seA's Science Infrastructure Database identifies and describes current resources and capacities of science-based organizations in the Algoma region.
The data includes: research infrastructure; scientific equipment; skills and capabilities of the science-based workforce; science academic capacity; and an assessment of private sector R&D needs.

Why seA developed this Database?
By incorporating the information into a searchable, public database, seA has a number of goals in mind:
- Improve marketing of local R&D strengths to research, business and funding agencies outside the region;
- Improve local awareness of the region's R&D capacity;
- Encourage the sharing of physical and human resources for the benefit of local organizations;
- Improve the Algoma region's investment readiness through better awareness of its world class strengths in R&D;
- Promote the creation of science-based job opportunities by attracting more researchers to the region.
